North Salem Woman's Elderly Dog Goes Missing NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Lucky, a 15-year-old dog belonging to a North Salem resident, is missing. Jennifer Groves told Daily Voice that Lucky, whom she referred to as elderly, went missing on Thursday evening. Groves recalled that her dog was last seen in her yard, which is near the intersection of Sugar Hill Road and Chestnut Drive.  Lucky is also partially blind and is deaf, Groves told Daily Voice. Fire Rips Through Lake Mahopac House Overlooking, Injures Dog, Cat MAHOPAC FALLS, N.Y. -- A house overlooking Lake Mahopac was severely damaged by a fire that tore through it Tuesday. Damage occurred on the eastern side of the house, according to Mahopac Falls Fire Chief Jeff Boyle. No people were injured, Boyle said, but a dog and cat were taken to a veterinarian to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation. The chief described the damage at the house at 142 W.
