Carmel's Town Board Reduces New Fee For Banners MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- The Carmel Town Board voted unanimously at its April 1 meeting to scale back a recently instituted fee for publicly displayed banners.  Banner work, which was formerly free, began to cost $1,500 with the start of 2015, Town Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt told Daily Voice. Now, the fee will cost $400 now. The previous amount was arrived at by accounting for processing permit applications and for the labor involved in hanging banners, Schmitt said. More than 4,000 eggs were used for event, the chief noted.
