Bedford Turkey Trot Includes Three-Time Winner BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Eleven Bedford Turkey Trots have been held since the 5K road race's inception in 2005, with the most recent having taken place on Saturday morning. Of those eleven races, three were won by Philip Cawkwell, who just earned his latest victory. Cawkwell, who lives in the Bedford area, finished first overall at 17 minutes and 11 seconds. New Castle To Get $16M In Sewer-Extension Funds NEW CASTLE, N.Y. -- Westchester County officials have voted to release $16 million in funds to help pay for a long-awaited sewer-expansion project for three northern New Castle neighborhoods. Police Seeking Suspect In Attempted Millwood Bank Robbery MILLWOOD, N.Y. -- New Castle Police are looking for a suspect in connection with Tuesday's attempted robbery of a Chase bank branch in Millwood. The attempted robbery occurred at around 11:27 a.m., police said. The suspect, who is a male, demanded money from the bank, although a teller refused to comply before he left. John Jay Principal Resigned Over 'Dispute,' Waived Right To Sue District CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – When it was announced last month that John Jay High School Principal Jessica Godin was resigning, the only specified reason for her abrupt departure was for “personal reasons.” However, documentation of Godin's exit shows that her departure was not an amicable one. False Report Made Of 'Violent Attack' At Putnam Group Home SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- A false report was made of there being a "violent attack" at a group home in Southeast, the Putnam County Sheriff's office reported. In response, a "large-scale police presence" was made on Friday afternoon, the sheriff's office said.
