Byram Hills Holding Education-Reform Talk With State Officials ARMONK, N.Y. -- The Byram Hills PTSA announced that it is co-sponsoring a panel on education reform with the school board. Participating visitors include state Sen. George Latimer, state Regent Judith Johnson and Byram Hills Superintendent Bill Donohue. A myriad of subjects are expected to be covered, including local control of education, standardized testing and teacher evaluations. Bedford Free Library Now Getting Farm-Share Deliveries BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Bedford Free Library announced that Field Goods, a farm-share organization, will now be delivering produce once a week. Food that is delivered can be picked up on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the library adds. Cases Adjourned For Hay Theft Suspects Working At Slain Socialite's Estate NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The pair of workers who are accused of stealing $30,000 worth of hay from the estate of slain socialite Lois Colley will return to local court later this month. An adjournment for both suspects was given to Jan. 25, according to Yvonne Borkowski, a defense attorney involved in the matter. The suspects are 33-year-old Angel Parra Penafiel and 33-year-old Hugo Ramirez-Morales, according to New York State Police, who made the arrests. Pound Ridge Offers Early Bird Pool Membership For 2016 POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- The new year may only be a few days old but Pound Ridge is already offering people the chance to register for summer pool memberships. The "early bird" family membership rates for Pound Ridge residents, which were released by the town's recreation department, are $250 until Feb. 1, $300 from Feb. 2 to May 15, and $400 beginning on May 16. For non-residents, the rates are $750 until Feb. 1 and $875 thereafter.  Pool applications are available on the town's website.
