Machete Murder: Monmouth County Man Convicted Of Stabbing Newark Resident, Prosecutor Says A 35-year-old Cliffwood man was convicted of first degree murder last month for fatally stabbing a Newark man with a machete, authorities announced Friday, April 11. Terrance Bailey was found guilty for murdering Daniel Haas, Jr. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. Bailey and an accomplice pursued Haas while brandishing a firearm near 207 Cathedral Ct. in Newark, Stephens said. Bailey and the accomplice, who has not been identified, killed Haas with a machete, Stephens said. Bailey faces 30 years to life in New Jersey State Prison, Stephens said.

Man Fatally Shot In Woodlynne: Prosecutor A 31-year-old Woodlynne man was fatally shot on the morning of Thursday, April 10, authorities said. At 7:47 a.m., the Camden County Police Department responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Avenue and found Randiel Guzman-Marte lying on the front porch of his residence, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said. Guzman-Marte was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
