'Taken Too Soon': Greenville Native, Northeastern Student Dies Of Meningitis The family of a 21-year-old Greenville native said their 21-year-old son had a bright future ahead of him that was snuffed out when he died unexpectedly of bacterial meningitis. Shane McCarthy was a junior business administration student at Northeastern University who graduated from Deerfield Academy. He died on Nov. 30. 'This Is A Nightmare': Family Of Utility Worker Killed In Waltham Alongside Officer Grieve Loss Officials have identified the 36-year-old Cambridge man who was killed on Wednesday, Dec. 6, while working at a National Grid utility job site along with a 28-year Waltham police veteran in a hit-and-run crash. Roderick Jackson was one of three National Grid employees who were hit while working at a job site on Totten Pond Road Wednesday afternoon. Jack Rizzari is the ninth $1 million winner in the “Billion Dollar Extravaganza" game. He chose to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 over the annuity. Man, 36, Dies Fighting With Dedham Police Following Stabbing Incident: DA A 36-year-old Dedham man died Wednesday, Dec. 6, after he was shocked with a TASER and pepper sprayed during a fight with police, authorities said. Community 'Heartbroken' After Mass Woman Killed By Shark In Bahamas Coworkers and friends of the 44-year-old Massachusetts woman who was killed by a shark while on vacation in the Bahamas say they are heartbroken and shocked by her death.
