Elizabeth Man Gets Nine Years For Stabbing Woman: Prosecutors A 36-year-old Elizabeth man was sentenced to nine years in state prison on Friday, Sept. 22 for stabbing a woman last year, authorities said. On Jan. 25, 2022, Juan Abreu-Perez stabbed a woman inside her apartment on South 5th Street, causing her serious bodily injury, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. Abreu-Perez was sentenced after pleading guilty to aggravated assault in August, Daniel said.

'Disgrace': Bar Patron Assaults Employee, Launches Tirade At Jersey City Gay Bar A man assaulted an employee and hurled anti-gay slurs at a Jersey City gay bar on Thursday, Sept. 28, authorities and the bar said. Pint, which has been a Jersey City institution since 1911, said the man asked an employee why they have a rainbow flag. When finding out he was in a gay bar, the man flew into a rage, said gays target children, that gay people and gay bars should be illegal and used a homophobic slur, the bar wrote on Instagram. Plainfield Man Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of Star Football Player: Prosecutors Maurice Pierce, 23-year-old Plainfield man was arrested on Monday, Sept. 25 and charged with murder in the shooting death of Jameer Outsey, a former college football player, back in August, authorities said. On Sunday, Aug. 12, Elizabeth police responded to North Broad Street and Magnolia Avenue and found Outsey, a Bridgewater resident, suffering from a gunshot wound, Union County Prosecutor William A. Plainfield High School Student Stabbed: School Officials A Plainfield High School student was stabbed at a local park on Tuesday, Sept. 27, school officials said. The stabbing occurred following an altercation and the injured student was transported to a nearby hospital. Rat Infestation Shuts Jersey City AMC Theater Now playing at the AMC Newport Centre: "Ratatouille." "Willard." "The Secret of the Nimh." The Jersey City movie theatre was ordered closed by a city inspector on Wednesday, Sept. 27 due to a rat infestation, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. The theater owner was cited for the presence of rodents and multiple outer openings allowing a rodents entry source, Wallace-Scalfione said.
