An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Golf Course Near Ex-Playboy Club Vandalized, NJ Town's Mayor Says (Video) A golf course located next to a former Playboy Club was vandalized in Sussex County on Saturday, July 27, authorities said. Vernon Mayor Anthony Rossi posted a video on Facebook of the vandalism at Great Gorge Golf Course, which is located next to the site of a former resort, that previously had a Playboy Club in the 70s and 80s. The video shows the 27-hole golf course torn up from what appears to be tire tracks. "If you have any information on who did this please contact the Vernon Police Dept at 973-764-615," Rossi said. Home Explosion Rocks Quiet North Jersey Neighborhood An unoccupied home in Westfield was destroyed following a fiery explosion on Monday evening, July 29, authorities said. At 10:15 p.m., firefighters responded to a home on the 100 block of Tudor Oval and found the structure ablaze with evidence of an explosion, the Westfield Fire Department said in a release. Man Sexually Assaulted Co-Worker: Secaucus PD A 48-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, July 24 with sexually assaulting a co-worker in Secaucus in May, authorities said. On Friday, May 3, Christopher White sexually assaulted his co-worker in the back of their truck at a business location on Enterprise Avenue, Secaucus police said. Following an investigation, White was taken into custody in Kearny and charged with sexual assault, authorities said. He was transported to the Hudson County Jail, police said.

Family Reunion Knife Assault: Hunterdon County Prosecutor Seeks 2 Assailants Two men are at large after assaulting people at a family reunion with a knife on Saturday, July 27 in Readington Township, authorities said. 6 Charged In Luxury NJ Car Thefts: Prosecutor Five men and one juvenile were recently arrested and charged with numerous residential and vehicle burglaries in Somerset County, authorities said. In October 2023, broke into a Bernards Township home through a rear sliding window and stole a 2023 Mercedes Benz, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald announced. East Orange Man Killed In Shooting: Prosecutor A 33-year-old East Orange man was fatally shot on the evening of Friday, July 26, authorities said. Around 8 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of South Munn Avenue and found Kenyaitte Crute shot, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. Crute was transported to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Stephens and Bindi said.
