Danbury Sings The Praises Of Marian Anderson's New Role On $5 Bill DANBURY, Conn. -- The news that one of Danbury's most famous residents, Marian Anderson, will grace the $5 bill has thrilled the head of the Danbury Museum and Historical Society. "She is an American icon, and I hope her story becomes part of everyone's consciousness," Executive Director Brigid Geurtin told the Daily Voice on Thursday. Born in Philadelphia in 1897, Anderson and her husband, Orpheus Fisher, moved to Danbury in 1940 after buying a 100-acre property there. Greenwich Cops Seize Vehicle In Fatal Hit-And-Run, Identify Victim GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich Police have seized the vehicle they say was involved in the crash that killed Edward Setterberg late Sunday. The vehicle was discovered Monday night in Greenwich, police said. Earlier, police had said they were looking for a 2006 or later Mercedes-Benz ML350 after recovering evidence at the scene of the accident. Setterberg, 43, of Cos Cob was the victim of a hit-and-run crash late Sunday while he was walking on East Putnam Avenue near Hillside Road, police said. Greenwich Police Charge Cos Cob Man With Slapping Child GREENWICH, Conn. -- A Greenwich man slapped a youth after yelling at him to get off his property, police said. Andrew Colin Morgan, 42, of 74 Orchard St., Cos Cob, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, police said. He posted $250 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Police said a minor reported that he was playing on an adjacent property to 74 Orchard St. at about 3 p.m. April 8, when a “mad woman” yelled at him, police said. Off-Duty Greenwich Officer Found Hit-And-Run Victim In Roadway GREENWICH, Conn. -- An off-duty Greenwich police officer found the 43-year-old town man in the roadway who was killed by a hit-and-run driver late Sunday, the Greenwich Time reported. 43-Year-Old Man Dead; Greenwich Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich police are looking for the suspect in a fatal hit and run that left a 43-year-old man dead late Sunday night. At about 11 p.m., the man was struck and killed on East Putnam Avenue at Hillside Road, according to police. Evidence recovered at the scene reveals the suspect vehicle is a 2006 or later Mercedes-Benz M class with a damaged silver honeycomb grill with the Mercedes-Benz logo in the center of it.
