Man Charged With Elbowing Stamford Cop In Face At Alive@Five Concert STAMFORD, Conn. -- A police officer got elbowed in the face by an intoxicated man he was trying to help at Alive@Five on Thursday night, Stamford Police said. Bridge Project To Begin On Greenwich's Brookridge Drive On July 11 GREENWICH, Conn. -- A five-month bridge replacement project will close Brookridge Drive at the bridge to traffic until December. On July 11, construction will begin on the Brookridge Drive Bridge superstructure replacement project. The $256,306 construction project is expected to be completed by December. Bridgeport Woman Facing Charges Of Credit Card Theft, Use In New Canaan NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Bridgeport woman was arrested two years after she allegedly stole a credit card while working as a caregiver at a New Canaan home, police said. New Canaan Police had been issued an arrest warrant for Tyetianna Mari Louise Owens-Coles, 22, of 135 Linwood Ave., Bridgeport. Stamford Firefighters Extinguish Fire On Top Of Building STAMFORD, Conn.-- Firefighters from Stamford's South End Fire Station on Washington Boulevard had to travel only about 150 yards to douse a blaze at an HVAC cooling tower at 2200 Washington Blvd. on Sunday night. At about 10:30 p.m., firefighters noticed what appeared to be heavy smoke coming from the cooling tower. Crews deployed hoselines from the stairwell across the roof to extinguish the fire. The blaze was out within 15 minutes of the arrival of the firefighters. The fire marshal's office is investigating the incident.
