Man Caught With Cocaine In Route 202 Stop, Yorktown Police Say YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A man was arrested and charged with possessing cocaine on Route 202 (Crompond Road) following a traffic stop last week. Nelson Rozon, 44, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Police said they initially observed Rozon driving without inadequate stop lamps in front of 3303 Crompond Road. After they pulled him over, they found him to be in possession of cocaine, police said. He was released on $200 bail and is due back in court on Nov. 2.

Kmart Employee Stole Cash, Gift Cards, Yorktown Police Say A teen employee who allegedly stole $275 in cash and gift cards at Kmart in Yorktown Heights was arrested on Monday. The 17-year-old, whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor, for the alleged theft, which police say occurred over a week ago. The teen was released on $100 cash bail and is due back in court on Nov. 14.

Jefferson Valley Woman Interferes With Investigation, Police Say A 25-year-old Jefferson Valley resident was arrested last week after police say she gave them a fake name while interfering with a police investigation in the DeCicco's Supermarket parking lot. Shamecca Thornton was charged with false personation, a Class B misdemeanor and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Portion Of Indian Point Possible For Development While Site Decommissions BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- There is hope for development at Buchanan-based Indian Point once the plant closes in 2020 and 2021. The New York State Indian Point Closure Task Force held its second meeting on Sept. 28.
