Fairfield Cleans Up Debris From Powerful Nor'easter FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Life is beginning to return to normal in Fairfield after a powerful nor'easter slammed the shoreline late Sunday.  As of noon Tuesday, there were still pockets of power outages around town. United Illuminating reported 98 customers without power in 16 different locations in town.  One of the spots in Fairfield that needed cleanup was Old Spring Road, where a massive tree fell across the road, damaged a fence and spread debris around the area.

Ridgefield Schools Closed Again On Tuesday Due To Impact Of Storm RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — All schools in RIdgefield will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 31, as the cleanup continues from a weekend nor'easter. The Central Office will be open at the regular time.  This is the second day in a row that school is canceled in Ridgefield due to the aftermath of the storm.  As of 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, about 850 customers were still without power in town.

2 Home Burglaries Reported In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. — Greenwich police are investigating burglaries at two empty homes over the weekend, according to Patch.com.  The first home break-in occurred at 6 p.m. Friday in a vacant home on Lockwood Lane, police told Patch.com. Nothing was reported taken. Burglars broke into a home on Deer Lane through the back door at 9:40 p.m. Saturday while the homeowner was away, Patch.com said. Wrestling Away A Great White Shark At The Maritime Aquarium At Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. — The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is saying goodbye to a great white shark that has been on display for years.  What looked like a scene from “Jaws” was just staff of The Maritime Aquarium moving a Fiberglas model of a great white shark.  The model is a cast of a 16-foot great white that was caught in the eastern end of Long Island Sound in the early 1970s.  It has been hanging in The Maritime Aquarium for many years, but was removed Monday to make way for construction of a new second-floor in the Aquarium’s Maritime Hall wing.
