Stamford Native Wins GOP Primary For New Jersey Congressional Seat STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford native Garry Cobb won the Republican primary Tuesday in a race for the U.S. House of Representatives. Cobb captured 68 percent of the vote in New Jersey’s District 1. He will run against Democrat Donald Norcross in the November election. Norcross captured 72 percent of the vote in his primary and will be an overwhelming favorite. The Congressional district includes Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties in New Jersey, and Democrats have nearly 200,000 registered voters compared with 70,000 Republicans. Runners Invited To Race At New Canaan Mile NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Runners of all ages are invited to head for the third annual New Canaan Mile, which will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 6 p.m. The race is hosted by New Canaan New Balance.  Proceeds go to a scholarship for a New Canaan High School student. New Balance owners Ron and Tina Rosenfeld donate $1,000 to a student who has strong leadership qualities, is hard working and attains good grades. Armonk Siblings Medal At National Fencing Competition ARMONK, N.Y. – Two Armonk fencers, Sylvie Binder and her brother, Zachary, won medals at a national competition over the weekend in Burlington, N.J. The Binders were among 500 fencers competing in the Mr. Ma Cup, named after the coach of the University of Pennsylvania fencing team.
