Monday Traffic Jammed Again All Around Fairfield County FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Rush hour traffic on Interstate 95 was jammed in both directions on Monday. Similar to Friday’s near-gridlock conditions, traffic was crawling on the Merritt Parkway and Interstate 84 in Danbury also saw congestion. Traffic was delayed for an unknown period on northbound I-95 between Greenwich and Fairfield, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Westport Softball Wins District 2 Championship WESTPORT, Conn. – On the day it lost one of its founders, the Westport Little League 12-and-under softball team captured its first District 2 championship in 15 years. Westport outslugged Fairfield, 14-13, in a 13-inning game that required two days to complete. The victory came on the day of the death of Bill Meyer, a founder of the league and longtime softball umpire in Westport. Redding-Easton Softball Team Wins District 1 Softball Title REDDING, Conn. – The Redding-Easton 12-and-under softball team completed a dominating run through the District 1 tournament Saturday with a 10-0 win over Wilton in the championship game. Redding finished the tournament 4-0 and advances to the Division 1 tournament on Wednesday in Orange. Redding will play the District 4 champion in its first Divisional tournament game.
