Garrison Library Hosts MLK Celebration GARRISON, N.Y. - The Desmond-Fish Library in Garrison welcomed actress, singer and storyteller April Armstrong on Sunday as part of the celebrations for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Joining Armstrong was award-winning musician Alva Nelson, who accompanied on piano, and master storyteller Jonathan Kruk who kept the crowd enthralled with stories about the Civil Rights Movement. Dozens of area adults and children were on hand to listen to stories, sing songs and celebrate Dr. King's legacy.
