Pleasant Valley Man Breaks Windows, TV In Domestic Dispute, Police Say PLEASANT VALLEY, N. Y. -- A Pleasant Valley man is behind bars after state police found him destroying property in his former girlfriend's home, despite an order of protection against him, police said.The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Darryl G. Greenfield, 50, of Pleasant Valley, for second-degree burglary, a felony; second-degree criminal mischief, a felony; first-degree criminal contempt, a felony; and misdemeanor menacing and resisting arrest, police said. Croton-on-Hudson Police Share Halloween Safety Tips With Students CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N. Y. -- Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School students learned about Halloween safety Thursday from two special guests. Croton-on-Hudson Police Detective Paul Camillieri and Officer T.J. Leonard made sure to visit every class to remind children that safety should be their first priority. Police asked them never to go into anyone's house, look when crossing the street and have parents inspect candy. Each student got Halloween coloring placemat, a safety bookmark that read “Be smart, be seen, have a safe Halloween,” and a glow-in-the-dark canvas bag for trick-or-treating.

Man Pleads Guilty Of Trying To Kill Ex-Girlfriend, Westchester DA Says WHITE PLAINS, N. Y. -- A Mount Vernon man pleaded guilty to several charges, including attempted murder, for his April stabbing attack of his ex-girlfriend from Yonkers at the Irvington Metro-North station, according to the Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore.Sidney Brown, 52, of High Street in Mount Vernon, remains behind bars awaiting a Jan. 7 sentencing.
